This question may come as a surprise to you. It would be truly wonderful if we could all have physical tickets to eternity that we could hold in our hands.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
In reality, buying tickets for eternity with wealth or good deeds is impossible. There are no booking agencies available for this purpose. To secure a reservation in eternity, one must confess and repent of their sins.
Jesus himself has already made the booking for you. As per John, chapter 14, verse 6, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” Do you know that salvation and access to eternal life come through faith in Jesus Christ.
When preparing for international travel, we usually create a checklist that includes essentials such as a passport, visa, airline tickets, and insurance.
However, there is no physical checklist for embarking on a journey to eternity since it is a matter of personal faith. 1 John 1:9 reminds us that: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Acknowledging Jesus as your personal savior is essential to receive the gift of salvation and eternal life.
Unfortunately, in today’s society, there is a concerning trend of individuals adhering to misinformed beliefs and engaging in practices like witchcraft and human sacrifice in the pursuit of eternal life. This phenomenon is particularly prevalent in some African nations.
The Holy Bible explicitly cautions against certain practices like sorcery, fortune-telling, divination, and communication with the dead, as they are considered detestable to the Lord, as mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
The ultimate truth is that there is only one way, and that way is through Jesus. No one can deny this statement.
Father, Thank you for the gift of salvation and the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Help us to acknowledge and accept him as our personal savior, and to confess and repent of our sins. We ask for your protection and guidance against the misinformed beliefs and practices that are offensive to you. May we always follow the truth and resist the temptation to engage in practices that contradict your teachings. We pray for those who have not yet accepted Jesus as their savior, that they may come to know him and receive the gift of eternal life. Thank you for your love and grace, and may we always strive to live in accordance with your will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
